My wife and I are opening a new antique mall in Homestead in a few weeks and I just wanted to jump on here and share the exciting news with the local community!

Hi everyone,

My wife and I have been busting our asses transforming a massive, historic 3-story warehouse right in Homestead into a new multi-vendor antique mall called Waste Not Want Not (my grandfather's favorite saying)

We’re getting super close to opening our doors (aiming for the next few weeks, I’ll keep everyone updated once we lock in the exact grand opening date!), but we wanted to get the word out to the neighborhood.

Since we’re multi-floor and have a ton of square footage, we still have a bit of space available for local vintage dealers, collectors, upcyclers, and artists.

I know the sub is careful with self-promotion for local small businesses, so I hope this is okay to post, were just really excited to share what we’ve been building for the area and bring this historic building back to life.

Can’t wait to welcome you all in soon! I also can't share too many pics because I want you to all come see it for yourselves but I'm happy to answer any questions about the space in the comments.

On a final note, I miss my mom deeply and wish she was here to see this. Since I can’t share it with her, I’m sharing it with you all instead. ♥️

New from WITF: Scott Perry is facing an ethics complaint over a campaign video that appears to have been filmed in his congressional office.

The complaint centers on House ethics rules that prohibit campaign activities in official buildings.

Question? Stolen from another city sub. Say you decide to name your child after a street in Philly. What are you going with?

Shoutout to the DC sub for this idea. Funny answers encouraged!

Edit: Not even joking, found out in this thread that there is a street WITH MY NAME in this city!! I gotta take a pic with the sign. Crazy.

St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery
🗓️ 22-Sep-2026
🚌 PRT 6 Spring Hill

Prior to our move to here, I'd spent over a decade-and-a-half in a smaller and much flatter city. As such, skyline views were limited to a select few "money shots" that every single local photographer would post at least a couple times a year. They're nice views, but there's not really a hidden gem situation... all the good spots are well-known across the city.

At the other end of that spectrum, you'll find Pittsburgh. I've lost track of the number of times I've driven around a corner and discovered a startling new view of downtown. And, of these views, St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery has got to be one of my favorites to date. I'd heard good things, yet I was still stunned when I arrived.

Pictures really don't do it justice. If you go, you're going to want to take pictures when you get there. And it's perfectly fine to do so. But, before you leave, make sure you take a moment to sit down with your phone in your pocket and take it all in. You'll be glad you did.

I'm on a mission to visit every neighborhood in Pittsburgh by transit. Click here for details and links to every visit.

Probably best to avoid it if you can. The SUV driver looked about as ok as one would in that situation.

Title. Also, would it be worth it to take Amtrak to Philly (living in Baltimore rn) and put my ballot into one of the actual drop boxes, or should it be fine in the mail?
