1E GM Sell me on your favorite 1e AP

I will be running an AP in the near future, and while I possess a great number of them already, I'm always looking for more. Most 1e APs have amazing premises imho and I've not yet seen one fall so flat that it's not fun to play anymore. Thus far, I've already played Rise Of The Runelords. We're currently in book 6 of Strange Aeons as well as Book 2 of Serpent Skull, and I've played both Pathfinder CRPGs (Kingmaker and Wrath Of The Righteous). However, I can't decide which AP I want to run (which is also why I'm letting my players decide), as there's just too many awesome premises to choose from!

As such, I want to hear from you. Which is your favorite 1e AP, and why is that the case? Any fond memories or exciting stories you want to share about it (spoiler-free of course)?

1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 28, 2026: Hyperboreal Robe

Today's magic item is the  Hyperboreal Robe

+2 to saves, and deal 1d6 cold damage to any who strike wearer with touch attack, unarmed strike, or natural weapon.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?
  4. Would a GM use the item?
  5. Is there anything cheesy that could be done with it?

1E Player Undecided about lvl 5 feat choice for a Dex Magus.

Hello!

For a long while now I've been playing in a campaign in Eberron in which I play an Elven Magus, and I've basically planned most of my path out for the first 7 levels, a part from the bonus feat at level five.

My character's stats are;
12 Str, 18 Dex, 12 Con, 18 Int, 10 Wis, 14 Cha.

We all randomly rolled our stats, so that's why they're on the high end. I chose Weapon Finesse at lvl 1, and Craft Wondrous Item at lvl 3. I did this since I'd been given permission to use "Slashing Grace" as a Magus instead of Dervish Dance, so I used the feat to substitute in an Opalescent White Pyramid and resonate it to gain the weapon focus feat so I can take Slashing Grace at lvl 5.

This only works for me, given I've also chosen bladebound, so my weapon will remain largely permanent throughout the adventure. (The weapon chosen was an elven thornblade for the +2 critical confirmation, and duel damage type of piercing/slashing)

Now the question I've been juggling with is what would I even use my bonus feat for? I've thought about Step-up, Improved Initiate, taking an extra arcana to gain "Spell Scars" (Because it's cooler than Scribe Scroll), but I can't really land definitively on anything at all.

In case it's of any use, our party is composed of a Magus, a Bloodrager, a cleric, and a hunter. I am basically the resident wizard for all intents and purposes.

This spell was not in the Remaster. The Knights of Last Call 'All Spells Ranked' series ranked this spell as C Tier. Would you change that ranking, and why?

What items or class features synergize well with this spell?

Have you ever used this spell? If so, how did it go?

Why is this spell good/bad?

What are some creative uses for this spell?

What's the cheesiest thing you can do with this spell?

If you were to modify this spell, how would you do it?

Does this spell seem like it was meant for PCs or NPCs?

1E Player Some questions about PRC's

  1. What makes a good PRC?

I see many the ones consider good either progress the base classes features or offer something really unique.

  1. Would you allow some of the more specific PRC requirements to be waived?

Such as many of the ones that require you to worship a specific god, you would allow anyone to take it for example.

1E Player Punch magic

If I understand things right. If you cast a spell with a range of touch, you have three options for delivery

A) you get a free touch attack the turn you cast it

B) hold the charge and hope something hits you with a natural weapon, eating the spell in the process

C) hold the charge until your next turn, then you can clock something with either an unarmed strike or a natural weapon to deliver the spell.

My question is if there is anyway to perform option C on the same turn you cast it rather than waiting? I know magus can do it, but is there any feat or trait that lets, like, a sorcerer or witch do a magic punch the same turn they cast shocking grasp or what have you?

1E GM Loot ideas for a low level party

Does anybody have an idea for any cool low level loot items to suit a Brawler, Rogue, Wizard or a Shaman. So far pretty much everything they find they just sell. I know about the usual stuff, weapons, armour, cloak of resistance, ring of protection. I’m looking for something a bit more interesting that they will probably use and not immediately discard. Any ideas?
Cheers!

1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 27, 2026: Lupine Robe

Today's magic item is the  Lupine Robe

Turmus: incredibly annoying to prepare, but undeniably tasty. What does it have to do with getting a pseudo-inspiration on a skill check? I have no idea.

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?

2E Player Age of Ashes: I got lost!

I’m running Age of Ashes and I got lost! Three things got me back on track. I only read the current chapter and the next one, never the whole book: the book is written for the author’s story, not for the GM on a Tuesday night, and reading ahead just fills your head with things the party won’t meet for months. Updated after the session, never during. And a pencil mark on every “if the PCs do X” branch, because those are exactly the spots where I used to lose the thread. Did you play AoA? What do you think about?

1E Player False Medium: what's the point?

False Sensitivity

At 2nd level, a charlatan can convincingly fake the ability to use occult skill unlocks such as automatic writing and dowsing. An untrained onlooker can’t tell the difference between the false medium’s scams and a true use of occult skill unlocks.

An onlooker capable of using the particular occult skill unlock that the false medium is faking can attempt the appropriate skill check for that unlock, opposed by the false medium’s Bluff check, to detect the fraud.

In any case, any results of the false medium’s charades are fabricated (for instance, the false medium might ask leading questions to elicit false memories while pretending to use hypnotism).

This ability replaces the 2nd-level rogue talent.

This ability seems completely useless, and could've just been a sidebar on how to use the Bluff skill. I wanted to build a non-magical hypnotist (think Merritt, from "Now You See Me"), but I can't even Implant Suggestions with actually having psychic powers. Am I missing something, or is it just trading away a talent for something that anyone with Bluff should already be able to do?

1E Player How to increase the Damage from Scatter Shots (Firearms)?

The Rules regarding Scatter Shot Firearms seem to indicate, that it's impossible to increase the Damage from Scatter Shot by using Feats:

Scatter Weapon Quality: A weapon with the scatter weapon quality can shoot two different types of ammunition. It can fire normal bullets that target one creature, or it can make a scattering shot, attacking all creatures within a cone. [...] When a scatter weapon attacks all creatures within a cone, it makes a separate attack roll against each creature within the cone. Each attack roll takes a –2 penalty, and its attack damage cannot be modified by precision damage or damage-increasing feats such as Vital Strike. [...]

So I would assume, that any Class Ability, that doesn't add Precision Damage, would apply to Scatter Shots. This would include Abilities like:

  • Gunslinger's Gun Training
  • Fighter's Weapon Training
  • Warpriest's Focus Weapon
  • (Anti-)Paladin's Smite
  • Edit: Luring Cavalier's Challenge
  • Slayer's Studied Target
  • Ranger's Favored Enemy
  • Kineticist's Energize Weapon
  • Bard's Inspire Courage
  • Medium's Champion Spirit's Spirit Bonus

Am I missing Ways to increase a Scatter Guns Damage? Would a Kineticist with a Conductive Blunderbuss be able to channel their Kinetic Blast through the Weapon against all Targets hit? How does an Eldritch Archers ranged Spellstrike work with it?

1E GM Mean things to Wish for

You are a CR 21 Advanced Mythic Rank 4 Glabrezu. You are fighting a battle against a party of 8 level 20/MR 5 heroes; various Things you have have kept you alive long enough to be down to your last tank of 500 hit points. You are bound to the place you're fighting in, so you can't truly escape, only teleport to some of your other allies and delay the death.

You now have you last ace-in-the-hole: due to Simple Arcane Spellcasting mythic ability, you have a Wish. Your own Wish, not the one you can only grant to mortals once per month; your own.

What do you Wish for? (In potentially one last act of spite?)

1E GM Tips for a new 1E GM getting ready to run Wrath of the Righteous AP

I am planning on in a few months running my first game of PF1E for some not entirely new players. Our current GM prefers GMing for lower tiers of play and I was talking with one of the other players and came up with the idea of running WotR since we wanted to play a game with mythic tiers and other high level pathfinder content. I was already playing through the video game adaptation of WotR so I volunteered to run this (and my dastardly plan of getting one of the people that will be my players running one where I get to have mythic tiers later gets closer to coming to fruition, heh heh *twirls non-existent mustache*).

For explaining how new I am to GMing PF1E, I have run games for other TTRPGs, including dnd 5e, so I have some GMing experience, and I have also, as a player, gone through a level 1 - 8 (on the box was supposed to be 12 but we were kind of stomping the enemies hard so we leveled up a bit less than supposed to per the module) pf1e module with the people who are going to be my players for this AP.

The main thing I am looking for is tips on how to deal with the high level and high mythic tier play as a GM for this module, or in other words, suggestions for how to potentially bump up the difficulty a bit without overshooting and making it unfun in the other direction if I notice that my players are wanting a bit more challenge from the combat as we get into the later books. Again I am planning to get to the prep work more as it gets closer to that time (I am currently still doing a DnD campaign with them that this would take the place of), and I also am still playing through the equivalent of book 4 of the AP in the video game adaptation so if you have anything specific to the AP as a tip, please mark it with a spoiler, especially if it is a book 5 or 6 encounter, so that I can come back to it once I have finished the adaptation and start my prep for this AP proper.

Thanks in advance for any tips you all may have. :)

1E Player how broad would you allow Divine Defiance and Focused Disbelief to work on?

it says "Special: In certain circumstances, some outsiders and creatures of other types might have a strong connection to a specific deity they work for as agents and servants. These creatures’ spells and spell-like abilities should likewise be affected by this feat, regardless of the creatures’ planar origins or sources of magical power, subject to the GM’s discretion."

i was wondering how broad you would allow it, for example would this work on demigods spell like abilities ie an archdevil's?

also wondering if this included witch spells as they gain spell from an outside source but it also seems like they merely learn how to use the spells from their patron and not that it comes from them, if that makes sense.

1E GM How would you buff the Pathfinder Chronicler prestige class?

So presitge classes usually fall in comparison to normal classes and I think this is one of them.

In my game I want to use prestige classes and let my players use buffed versions of them.
How would you buff the Pathfinder Chronicler? My ideas are keeping the spell progression of the base classes, allowing Deep Pockets to improve while the class progresses and maybe allow absurd combos like Battle Planner feat with the Inspire Action (Su) from the Chronicler to count yourself as an ally so you can spam move actions and get move actions for you and your allies but with some cap (like prestige class levels / 2).

What do you think? So far these are general ideas but still haven't planned specifics.

1E GM Items that enhanse summon monster.

I am building a character (not sure if I want to go summoner or wizard) who is focused on summon monster. She is going to be a big bad for my level 6 party. What are some good items I can give her to boost her summons? They can be powerful, but if they are they should be consumables. She will be around level 7 or 8.

1E Resources Daily Magic Item for October 26, 2026: Eidolon Anchoring Harness

Today's magic item is the  Eidolon Anchoring Harness

The eidolon wears this thing. If the eidolon would be banished, the summoner can instead expend a use of Summon Monster to keep it around.

  1. Would you buy this item?

I am considering running this module for my home game. I own the hard copy, but I've never run or played it before. I'm looking for general reviews of it, since the new Paizo store has none.

Any thoughts, pointing out of mistakes in the design, etc.

1E Player Question regarding weapon and board fighting.

Hello, I need some clarifications for a weapon and board fighting build I am trying to come up with. Let us assume that this character uses a longsword and a medium spiked shield.

  1. If he has two weapon fighting, improved two weapon fighting and greater two weapon fighting I assume that he can make 3 shield bashes.
  2. Since he is two weapon fighting he needs double slice to add his full strength bonus to his shield bashes (since the shield is his off hand weapon).
  3. Is there some consensus on the interaction between shield master, and enchanting the shield and the weapon spikes. Can I have my shield enchanted and then enchant my spikes as well? (I know enchantment bonuses don't stack but effects do)
  4. How does power attack work for the shield bash. Do I get +1 dmg or +2 dmg for each -1 penalty?

Thank you in advance.
