politics Early voting starts Thursday October 15th and goes until October 31st. FINAL chance to register to vote if you haven't done so.
If you have not yet registered to vote yet, early voting in NC is your final chance to do so. Early voting is from October 15th to October 31st. As of right now NC only allows you to register if you early vote at the same time. The deadline to register and vote on election day has passed.
This website is where you can check your voter information, sample ballot, and if your mail-in ballot was accepted:
In NC you must have a photo ID to vote, but if you don't you can fill out an exemption form and cast a provisional ballot. You can see the details here:
https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id
Here is where you can find early voting sites in NC for your specific county:
During early voting you can vote anywhere in your county. This differs from election day voting where you must vote at your assigned voting place.

discussion NC School Breakfast
Reposting my comment down below on original post
What happened to all these farm-to-cafeteria initiatives? Are we actually investing in feeding kids nutritious, quality meals, or is it just another feel-good initiative on paper?
My kids bring packed lunches because the cafeteria food is legitimately awful. What’s even sadder is hearing about other students refusing to eat because the food is so unappetizing. These kids are hungry, and the options we’re providing are less than satisfactory.
We live in a state with a massive agricultural industry, yet somehow this is what we’re serving children? We can and should do better. 🤦🏽♂️

Surry County Sonker
Apple sonker at Southern on Main in downtown Elkin, North Carolina.
Sonker is a traditional dessert associated with Surry County, dating back to the 1800s. Similar to cobbler, it can be made with apples, peaches, blackberries, or sweet potatoes. The exact origin of the name is uncertain.
The Surry Sonker Trail was established in 2015 to highlight local restaurants serving variations of the regional dessert.
Southern on Main offers a more upscale interpretation of the traditional apple sonker.
