Too mild for school A few girls working on a project asked to borrow my correction marker. When I asked it back, they dug around a trash pile of cut up paper and junk and handed me the empty marker.
I bought it like 2 days ago. How is it even possible to use it all up??

Too mild for school Normally nordic keyboards share the same keycap set. In the Norwegial layout the key on the left is "Ć" and the right one is "Ć". In Danish its the other way around.

Too mild for school My salary went up and my net pay went down.
I'm a teacher, so my salary is crap already. My wife is a part time server/bartender. Last year our teacher's union negotiated to get us all a 3% salary raise. Hooray! We did it!
But...at the bottom of the e-mail they sent us all and buried in the new agreement that they had negotiated, there's also a 10% increase in our medical benefits. So I got my first paycheck of the school year and I'm making less than I did last year.
Just posting to vent. I absolutely love my job and I truly know it's what I was born to do, but this just isn't sustainable. I constantly get asked by my student's "why do you live in an apartment while we all live in houses?"
I'm just tired man...

Too mild for school These are the chairs in the waiting room of a medical clinic specialising in invisible chronic illness
They're pretty much just cushions on the floor. I don't know any chronically ill person who would feel comfortable sitting there.
They say they specialise in understanding invisible illness

Too mild for school teacher always shortens my name for no reason
I don't have a long name but my teacher always shortens it, she doesn't do it with anyone else she'll be taking attendance, reading all the names from the list normally even if they're long or hard to pronunce and when she gets to me she always shortens it. Asked her respectfully to just call me by my name not shorten it but she refuses to. Is Sophia THAT hard to spell, I'm gonna lose it if I get called Sofi one more time
EDIT: Forgot to say it - I talked with her and asked why she shortens my name when I already made it clear I want to be called by my name not shortened version. She said she just prefers it that way š

Too mild for school I graduated college. They ālostā my diploma.
The title is basically TL;DR. I just graduated college and had my ceremony last sunday. As the time came to collect our diplomas they couldnāt find the ones from my field of study (a whole backstory there as well: basically they forgot about us.)
We were told on monday that our diplomas were accidentally sent to the wrong campus and that weād be able to pick it up there⦠during office hours. My friend has class there so I asked her to go see if she could pick it up in my place. Well, that wouldnāt be any problem⦠if the diplomas were there. No sight of them anywhere.
My classmates and I are getting pretty frustrated at this point and send another email. Well lo and behold: yesterday I received an email saying my diploma ISNāT PRINTED OUT YET! That explains why they couldnāt find them. There werenāt any!
So yeah now Iām waiting for another update about my diploma. We also havenāt received it digitally or anything so we canāt provide it for job applications.
Love life!
ETA since there are a few recurring questions:
- I live in Belgium š§šŖ
- I havenāt really heard of āfinal transcriptsā. Our diploma is our official proof of completing our studies. Few companies look super closely at grades, the diploma is the proof that the student passed the course. There is a grade of distinction which represents our grades though, and itās mentioned on our diploma: āGraduated with:
⢠passing grades
⢠distinction
⢠high distinction
⢠highest distinction and well-wishes from the school boardā.
- There are companies who request a certain degree of education for a job. For example: a doctor will need an Academic Bachelor and a Masterās diploma to practice their job. A mechanic will need to have obtained a technical field high school degree. So many request proof of completion of your studies to verify that you are practically, probably financially , and legally qualified for the job.
- Iāve seen a couple comments saying companies could call the school to verify. Itās much easier to just request a pdf of your diploma during the application process, that way itās immediately in your records as well. Plus, school desk employees donāt want to answer that many calls.
Thanks for all the replies and well-wishes! And good luck to those out there who were/ are in the same situation as me, just add it to the list of life obstacles we tackled. Thatās how Iām trying to look at it right now. š š«¶
UPDATE: I received another mail on Friday saying they will print them out ASAP and inform me when (and where) they will be available for pickup. My classmate called BS and sent a mail back on Saturday, putting our head of the program in cc.
Well, no word yet from our diplomas. But our head of the program has sent a mail as well tagging lots of people, practically demanding to know where the hell our diplomas are.
We havenāt received any response yet. I have filled in a power of attorney form which allows my friend to pick up my diploma in my place, in the case that our diplomas turn up on the other campus. So thatās that at least.
Iāll update once I hear more. Bye!

Too mild for school An English mock test for university entrance exam (for 12th graders) in Vietnam
This exam is one of the most important exam for the student in Vietnam because it will determine which university you'll be accepted. English is one of the most vital subject in the world right now so it's in one of the subjects in yhe the entrance exam.
But the ridiculous thing here is that 12th graders are familiar with B1 and B2 vocabulary if they actually study, THESE ARE NOT THE REGULAR WORDS FOR A NORMAL STUDENTS. The test is long, 12th graders only have 50 MINUTES, full of C1 and C2 words, full of specialized terms that you only encounter if you're in the field. I've seen English teachers, English translators, students who got 8.5 IELTS ranting on internet because of how challenging this mock test actually is.

Too mild for school Why would I tip for an online clothing order?
I also don't like how "no tip" is represented as a -1 in some bid to guilt trip me into something.
Update: I was sent an email that I never completed my purchase despite seeing a charge in my banking app and having a confirmation email. Then I went through all sorts of hoops trying to get to some form of customer service. It was only resolved after I called my bank to dispute the charges and all of a sudden my "missing" order was miraculously recovered and a set to appear in maybe two weeks. All around, not a good time.

Too mild for school Teacher did not allow my daughter to Pick second Part of novel at library
My 3rd graders class goes to the local library every fortnight. She is an avid reader and it is always her favorite day. She read the first inkheart novel during summer break. Her new teacher did not allow her to pick the second one because it is "above a 3rd grade reading level"... Out of spite she then picked 3 cardboard baby books without words, because "Miss teacher obviously thinks I am a baby" and told me she will "never take part in reading time in her school again".

Too mild for school Apple not having an option to clear cache in 2026 is beyond infuriating.
I have to factory reset it just to get updates. iPad Air 5th gen.
More infuriating is that they didnāt stop selling 64Gb iPads until 2025

Too mild for school Every single step in this lecture hall is a different height. A classmate already sprained an ankle a year ago, but hey, at least they taped the first one!
Walking up these stairs feels like a sobriety test. The height and depth change with every single step, making it impossible to get into a rhythm. The school apparently acknowledged the danger, put a single strip of yellow safety tape on the very first stair, and just gave up. Love it. š

Too mild for school Once you see it, it infuriates you mildly every day.
All it would take to fix it is a stapler and a little audacity.
