Community Event How To Get Your Web Game To 60 FPS | AI Gaming Festival

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Look in the upper left corner; the video above shows how I've gotten part of a web game to get up to 60 FPS, which is good for a web game rendering 3D object. And it shows all the of performance metrics that are being measured.

Then it shows another section where FPS falls all a cliff to 2.4 FPS. This was actually tested and picked up AI.

In the AI Gaming Festival, we are having a session all about how to optimize web games performance with AI.

I think this is a critical talking point because there a few web games that spend a lot of time polishing and sometimes are virtually unplayable, and the prompt "optimize my web game" is not specific enough.

Better token utilization for vibe coders is knowing what tell the AI to measure and fix: LODs, compression, draw calls, triangles, gpu vs cpu, etc.

RSVP session while its free.

Community Event A competition for small neural networks that play strategy games

Thumbnail

15yrs back I participated in "Google Ants AI Challenge 2011", an ai programming competition, hosted by the University of Waterloo, and I ranked #127 (#1 in my country). The competition gave me a huge learning opportunity where developers across the world came to a forum and discussed various techniques.

Now, building a similar platform to bring back the fun is unbelievably nostalgic. Especially when watching small neural networks playing the game well. Some of the top models use less than 800 parameters.

In fact, I was wrongly assuming the art of optimizing is underrated nowadays. Neural Network optimization seems to be much more fun than I thought.

Plz share your feedback to improve the platform and add more games.

AI Browser Game Jam 5 is open for sign-ups. The jam runs October 16 to October 30, 2026.

The rules are simple: make a free browser-playable game in two weeks using AI for whatever you want - code, art, music, design, sound, anything.

A few details:

  • No sponsor or required AI service
  • Solo devs or teams
  • Theme revealed when the jam starts
  • Theme is optional
  • Sharing your AI workflow/process is encouraged
  • Participants play and rate the entries

The last jam had 126 entries and 248 people joined, so I’m really curious how big round 5 gets.

Jam page: https://itch.io/jam/ai-jam-5

Discord: https://discord.gg/86xBnZqHjy

If you joined one of the previous jams, feel free to share what you made and what tools you used. Thanks for reading and have nice day.

Community Event Tomorrow's Talk On Gemini and AI Game Development

Post image
1 Upvotes

It seems like the buzz goes back and forth between OpenAI and Claude. Today is Astra, tomorrow is will be Fable. 5.5 (assuming that is the next model).

But not many people talk about Gemini and it use cases when it comes to AI Game Development.

Tomorrows event in the AI Gaming Conference will be 'Gemini' and AI Game Development With 10SixGames'.

What is unique about them is they are a fully funded studio with industry veterans on the team who don't use AI for everything.

And that is one the biggest misconceptions about AI; is it does everything and produces souless slop. When actually, veterans use it like a surgical tool that is used at the right moments to enhance development of a game.

Community Event Challenge: Creating games without communicating

I sometimes see these videos where multiple gamedevs create a game without communicating, like this one. Each person works on the game for a while. Usually a few days, I think. And then the next person gets it, and has to figure out the stare and how to progress. I'd like to try this. And instead of using complete engines, I would just use Rust with AI coding agents. Is anyone interested to participate?

It would also be allowed not to use AI, but I'd like to see how far a small team can get with AI if everybody adds their own ideas, so using some AI is encouraged. If you don't know anything about Rust, it's probably good if you use an AI coding agent.

And you don't need to do much programming work. You could just create some assets (hand drawn, AI, 3D, cutscenes), or describe your own game idea (the AI will probably read all the documentation, so it won't be lost effort).

If you're first, it would be nice if you turn the game playable in some way. But it's not necessary. If you're in the middle, you could tell the AI where to put the animations. Shouldn't be too difficult. Only if you're last, it would be important that you somehow get everything into the game to create a coherent experience.

I just created a Discord for it.

I think we should get around 5 people before this can start. Else it probably doesn't make sense.

Tomorrow's talk, Intro To Vibe Coding, is for those looking to make their first game with AI, this will go about how to setup your game environment and start vibe coding.

This is both for developers that want to take the leap and get into AI, and for vibe coders as well. It will cover:

  • State of the game development
  • Setting up Claude and Codex
  • Setting up Blender
  • Setting up your phone for development
  • Prompt basics (subagents, calling other agents, memory, etc)
  • The biggest mistakes to avoid when vibe coding your game

There is a lot of talks at all different levels in the conference, here is the full schedule.

Community Event AI Browser Game Jam 4 starts NOW, the theme is CHARGE. Two weeks, any AI tools, browser games only.

Thumbnail

The fourth AI Browser Game Jam is officially underway. Submissions are open now through August 14.

This round's theme: CHARGE

Charging a battery. A battle charge. A credit card charge. A criminal charge. Who is in charge. Interpret it however you want or ignore it entirely, the theme is a suggestion, not a rule.

The rest is simple: make a free, browser-playable game in two weeks using AI tools for whatever you want. Code, art, music, design, sound, all of it.

What makes this jam different from most:

  • No sponsor, no required service or tool. Use whatever AI tools you want!
  • Participants are the judges, so every entry gets played and rated by other jammers.
  • Sharing your process (prompts, pipeline, lessons) is encouraged but optional.
  • Solo or team, all skill levels.

This jam has grown every round: Jam 1 had 29 entries, Jam 2 had 47, Jam 3 had 82. Hope to see round 4 break 100.

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Community Event AI Browser Game Jam 4 results are in - 126 entries, 1,034 ratings

Thumbnail itch.io
1 Upvotes

AI Browser Game Jam #4 just wrapped, with 248 joined, 126 browser games submitted, and 1,034 ratings.

Top 3:

  1. Plug & Prosper by Small Loop Works
  2. AI2U - Guns & Girlfriends by DGSpitzer
  3. TECHNICAL DEBT by OblongOolong

Plug & Prosper had a dominant showing, taking first overall plus four of the five category wins. Big congrats to Small Loop Works!

A few of my personal picks beyond the top 3:

The theme was CHARGE and people took it a lot of different directions. There's a huge range in there, everything from arcade action to puzzles to some genuinely strange experimental stuff.

The thing I noticed most is that the overall quality keeps going up. People are combining more tools instead of leaning on one, and the results show it. A lot fewer entries feel like generic AI output this time. The games that stood out had real taste behind them, you can tell someone was making actual decisions instead of just accepting whatever came out.

Next jam is in October. If you're experimenting with AI-assisted game dev and want a deadline, feedback, and a bunch of other people building alongside you, come hang out.

Community Event AI Gaming Festival: Assasins Creed Game Director + Core Loops

Post image
1 Upvotes

Starting to ramp up for the AI Gaming Festival next month, I've put together some REALLY good speakers ranging from VCs if you are try to raise money from AI experts from Take-Two Interactive.

One of the speakers is Martin Capel, one of the game directors Assassins Creed and also worked on Fortnite, and he is going to on developing core loops and how Ai can assist with the process.

RSVP Here For His Session

RSVP Early while tickets free, once they hit September, early bird free tickets end.

I think Martin's talk is very important because I see a lot games being graphically developed well, but missing the core loop, or the "point" of the game.

Community Event Assassins Creed Game Director To Talk About Core Loops At The AI Gaming Festival

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I think this will be one of the most useful talks to many games in how to turn those "one prompt games" into actual games with core loops and subloops.

Our first speaker at the AI Gaming Festival (RSVP and game submissions are still open) will be Martin Capel.

He was the Game Director of Assassins Creed and was also a lead mentor for Fortnite.

His talks will of the first talks so games can take what they learn and improve their core loops and increase their chances of the wining the $20k in tokens as the festival (if you want to complete, still enter your game).

Community Event 230 Submissions To The AI Gaming Festival!

Thumbnail

I honestly thought it would be a struggle to get 200 submissions to the AI Game Festival. Deadline hasn't even passed and we've surpassed our goal with 230 submissions.

$20k in tokens will be competitive, I can't wait.Going to be giving a guide to help games improve over the next month to increase their chances of wining.

Posted the latest charts to give an update to see how other games are using AI in there development.

This week, I'll be posting speakers for you:

  • Developer who worked on Assassins Creed and Fortnite to talk about onboarding
  • Studio that raised $11 million from investors to make games
  • A person with no experience in development built there games to 20k play through

All in an effort to educate the community, and others about how to build games using AI.
