Political Discussion Yes, City of Sudbury, DEFINITELY close multiple lanes on Ramsey Lake Rd during morning rush hour for road painting...
...causing traffic backups on Paris St halfway up to the Bridge of Nations.
WHATEVER you do, definitely don't do that overnight when there aren't thousands of people trying to get across the city to HSN, Laurentian, etc, or in the middle of the day when the paint will not only cure faster but there is less through traffic.
Brilliant. Super dope. Well done ššš

Political Discussion How do we get rid of Leduc
Too many candidates in Ward 11 and the Ethics violator will likely come back due to simple name recognition. How do we get rid of the worse moustache in Ontario municipal politics???

Political Discussion Ward 11 elections
I am wondering who to vote for in 11.
Cannot do the incumbent as he is a disaster these last 8 years with all his shenanigans.
I want someone actually living in ward and paying taxes in ward and level headed.
Thinking Dan Larocque. We really cannot vote split here or we get another 4 years of an empty chair at the table and controversy.
What are your thoughts ?

Political Discussion A tale of two protests: 1.7km apart but worlds away
Farmersā market at Elm Place: Free Gaza protest with people fighting for human rights and the end of a genocide.
Bell Park parking lot: freedom convoy clowns still cosplaying as āthe oppressed.ā
Some folks protest genocide while others protest a ālost liberal decadeā and mandates that ended years ago by the last prime minister.
Get a grip people! This parking lot party is a genuine embarrassment for Sudbury.

Political Discussion Things are heated in Ward 7
Between Natalie Labbee and Aaron Walsh. She just posted a live she had about 30 min ago. I guess Aaron Walsh and friends attacked her event and things got physical between some supporters. Crazy times. Iām not a fan of either of them but if Aaron wins in Ward 7 , they will have huge problems.

Political Discussion Extremist rally tonight. No cameras allowed.
Got this photo. Pass it on. If you go, don't bring a camera to take photos. It's dangerous for those in attendance to have photos taken.

Political Discussion Frustrating being deleted every single provincial and municipal elections
So I live on a regional road. This is critical information.
Every election that I've lived in Sudbury for, for the city or the province, I've had to register. I've done provincial elections and had to register everyone on regional roads.
However when I've done federal elections while I get different street names, the voter name and house number is still there. I can easily look at a map and get both the regional road and the street name to verify the address. Not a problem.
But the province keeps deleting me from the rolls as well as everyone else on regional roads. Even if they have the name that the maps use.
Why? I've complained to the city and the province. The city says they get the list from the province yet never seems to notice entire regional roads missing. The province seems to shrug and blame mpac (which isn't true because that would mean the property owner is still on the roll)...
Just so frustrated.

Political Discussion Election Results
Sad to see that after more than 70 years, Nickelbelt has elected a Conservative for the first time. However, Pierre Pollievre lost his seat so there is a silver lining.

Political Discussion Do we not have any local artists??
I'm doom scrolling the posts made by those running for council and so much are AI crap.
Do we not have any local artists? Should we not identify them for those folks wanting to be part of our city but don't know how to find our local artists?
Fyi. A fair bit of sarcasm here okay? I do know we have some amazing artists and I've used them.

Political Discussion Concerns regarding local animal welfare and emergency veterinary services
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the current state of animal welfare, wildlife rescue, and emergency veterinary services in our community.
The lack of accessible emergency care for pets and local wildlife is deeply alarming. Pet owners face immense hurdles during after-hours or weekend emergencies.
Being heavily restricted to a primary family veterinarian who is often closed on weekends, combined with exorbitant emergency costs, leaves animals in extremely vulnerable situations.
At the same time, there is a visible shortage of public resources allocated to animal rescue. Job openings for biologists, animal control, and veterinary staff remain scarce despite the clear need.
Meanwhile, internationally trained professionals who have had their degrees evaluated still face overwhelming barriers to working in their fields, which only worsens the labor shortage.
In many other places, emergency care is open to anyone in need without these administrative barriers or unreasonable costs. Our community urgently needs better emergency coverage, streamlined integration for foreign-trained professionals, and more dedicated public support for animal rescue.
I hope this feedback helps highlight the urgent need for improvements in our local system.

Political Discussion Map of Voting Day locations (paper ballot)
There was no map from the city showing all the 27 voting locations on October 26, only a list (Voting Locations). Decided to make something to show nearest in person voting location. Full disclosure that electronic voting is still active, this is just to help those who want to go in person.
