I love worldbuilding for personal purposes. This includes fictional firearms design. And since I'm not really a firearms expert nor an intellectual regarding firearms, I would just search up Wikipedia and worldbuild my designs using the specs of real life firearms.
To simplify and save time (yeah, I'm low-key kinda lazy sometimes especially with long texts), I would just ask ChatGPT to search the specs for the firearms on Wikipedia. Before this, it would just give me the answers I needed. I literally have an entire chat full of Soviet firearms specs.
But now it says stuff like "I'm sorry I cannot search up" even when I tell it to use Wikipedia (literally a public website where even literal terrorists could visit) and instead keeps insisting on "I can help with" bla bla bla yap yap yap.
Hello everyone. I do reverse engineering, but what I do is always personal, so I don't work for someone or a company to do RE. The problem I have is the unnecessary safeguards on mainstream AIs, Gemini is the worst in this case, and then it is chatGPT and then Claude in my experience.
Is there any way to fix this issue or any alternative? I really don't have powerful hardware; I have 12th Gen Intel CPU with iGPU. I can't locally host a model, and I don't know what to do.
For example, I have a VM and inside of that I was testing a sketchy "antivirus". it wasn't nod32 or Kaspersky or anything mainstream, it is from an unknown origin, and I wanted to know how it works and what it does, I noticed that virtual memory page exhaustion shuts it down and I figured it out by accident.
Now since I'm working on an "antivirus" and I want to find a way to replicate the same shutdown, AI just freaks out and refuses to help because it is "deactivating a security product". changing the wordings didn't help either.
Either I get "This answer cannot be shown" banner in chatGPT, when I give my IDA output to it, or I get "I'm sorry I can't do X" from Gemini.
Hey guys, this might seem crazy to even ask but it's a genuine question.
What is the real use of codex/work for programming/coding?
I know that you can select models in it and I get that, but if you're on a plus plan, can't you just get the normal chat on 'High' to do all the coding work for you?
Is codex that much better/superior? I know it depends on what you're coding, obviously if you plant to do a 3D Motion Website, you'd need 6.1Sol xhigh or astra. Etc
But say you're just doing normal code, no image generation, or the like.
I want to make a mod, for myself, for a video game I play. I saw a few videos on reddit where they said they were able to create full video games with astra, so I thought it would be enough to make this mod.
These are images I got with astra, but I can't get it to create a model that looks close to any of these.
I have spent 3 days trying to convince it to not make low poly slop. I provide it with as many references as I can, actual mod files from other similar projects, and even finished images of what I'm trying to build. No matter what I say, it keeps giving me stuff like this.
Maybe I'm just too dumb to give it instructions? Is this outside of the limitations of astra? I seriously think I'd be better off trying to learn to 3d model than to use ai at this point.
Plenty of people have that one thing, like how payslip deductions work or what an index fund is. Someone explained it years ago and it never landed.
The trick that tends to work is asking for a different angle, not a longer answer:
"I've heard [topic] explained before and it never stuck. Explain it from a completely different angle, with one everyday example, then ask me one question to see if it landed."
It works the same in Claude or Gemini. What finally made sense for you, and how did it explain it?
I often use chatGPT to analyze stocks and their SEC filings, but it makes some mistakes that are somewhat easy for me to see but it's only because I already have a good knowledge of the subject.
The most recent example was, on IBRK they have a tax optimizer that post trade you can select the lots that would be best for tax purposes.
ChatGPT stated I could do this for any trade during the tax year, but I doubted that. So I asked a follow up question.
QUESTION: "I didn't think you can adjust tax lots for trades that happened 10 days ago"
RESPONSE: You are entirely correct, and I apologize for the previous misstatement. You cannot adjust tax lots for a trade that happened 10 days ago (or 30 days ago).
I get this fairly often, my question is if I use gemini or claude or something else, are they generally more correct?
For my next open mic, I recorded a rehearsal and tried three openings for a joke about buying a planner and never using it. Each attempt had a slightly different way of getting to the same punchline. In VOMO AI I transcribed the recording and asked for the attempts to be separated so I could compare them. Having the words on the page saved me typing out each version, and I spotted that I was explaining the planner purchase twice.
I gave ChatGPT the transcribed versions with a request to mark repeated information and leave the punchline and my phrasing alone. I kept "I bought a planner to get my life together" and cut the longer explanation about choosing one in the shop. Then I read the edited version aloud and made one small change where I naturally used a different word. I put that version on my rehearsal sheet. The draft still had the wording I'd arrived at by talking, with a shorter route to the punchline.
Iāve noticed ChatGPT offering worse and worse code recently, getting confused about what Iām asking it and seemingly less efficient at solving issues.
Am I imagining this or is something going on? I did read that thereās a point of diminishing returns where adding more data eventually decreases performance.
Everyoneās talking about AI becoming more and more intelligent but I swear itās getting worse.
I told it "do the math" and it came up with so many formulas that I can not keep up with. It worked for maybe 20 minutes and I can not do anything with the result. Its like a university professor spoke to me explaining stuff I dont know. Asking it "Explain it to me so that I can understand" took an entire hour for the model to break it down and I still dont understand it.
Found this very interesting so had to ask. Is this common? I haven't come across any posts about AI keeping a dream diary for itself. I didn't even ask it to do it. I found it going through its workspace.
Today I woke up with 100% weekly credits, even though the renewal wasn't due for a couple days. However my 5h allocation went down in half an hour like I just unclogged a sink, and I wasn't even using Astra or running anything remotely complex.
Iām experiencing an extremely frustrating issue with ChatGPT. The voice I normally use is female, and it has become part of how I use ChatGPT every day and in my projects. However, suddenly, the Read Aloud feature started reading responses using a male voice, regardless of the female voice I have selected in the settings. Voice Mode still uses the correct female voice. The problem specifically affects Read Aloud.
Iāve already tried changing the voice settings, restarting the app, and testing it through the browser. Iāve also tested this with accounts/devices belonging to friends and family members, and they are experiencing the same behavior.
I consider this unacceptable for a paid service, especially because voice consistency can become an important part of long-term projects and established workflows. A voice that users have become accustomed to should not suddenly be replaced without giving them an option to choose or restore it.
I really like ChatGPT and have built a significant part of my workflow around it, but this issue is frustrating enough that Iām seriously considering moving my projects to Claude or another platform if it isnāt fixed.
OpenAI needs to investigate and fix this as soon as possible, or at the very least give users an explicit option to select which voice is used by Read Aloud. Is anyone else experiencing exactly the same issue today?
I gave chatgpt the floor plans of a room, dimentions, real photos of the empty room and it just can NOT handle keeping the architecture the same. It moves doorways, changes windows, etc. I've given VERY specific instructions and it keeps saying "you're right, this isn't at all accurate" type of stuff. Everyone says how sophisticated AI is but I'm constantly unable to use it. It maybe user error, chatgpt or both but any tips is appreciated.
Earlier when I used to be tired but curious, I used to talk to the voice feature of chatgpt asking questions and it used to understand my English completely.
Now, it doesn't understand anything and interprets totally useless things.
Also, it tries to act like a human by constantly interrupting with hmm, i see like filler words which is really not a good experience.
I'm on Plus and using the Codex desktop app. I'm asking about the allowance shared by Codex/Work, rather than ordinary ChatGPT chat messages.
Over the past two weeks, especially this week, my workload has been lighter than usual, but the five-hour allowance seems to drain much faster. I've previously done substantially heavier coding with higher reasoning settings, multiple threads/subagents, and browser/desktop tools without seeing this rate of depletion.
Here's what I've observed:
Rapid depletion: a captured run went from 0% used (100% remaining) to about 90% of the five-hour allowance used in roughly ten minutes. Part of that rise was 53% to 90% used in about two minutes. Several existing threads were active, so this isn't a claim that one short prompt caused the entire drop. I had selected Sol High to reduce consumption; some existing sessions also used Astra/higher reasoning. No Fast mode or image generation.
The opposite behavior earlier: the meter showed 0% remaining, yet ordinary model work continued without a usage-limit error, before the displayed reset time.
Errors despite remaining allowance: during the recent incident, usage-limit errors appeared alongside nearby readings of roughly 10ā13% remaining in the five-hour window and about 70% weekly remaining. I can't tell whether a different limit or stale readings caused that.
Dashboard inconsistencies: some historical five-hour windows show more than 100% used, including 113.2% and 101.7%. Some periods say that usage is unavailable or incomplete. Recent activity also looks absent/flat in parts of the analytics despite active work and limit errors; the update timestamps/date boundaries may be relevant.
After manually resetting, short work sessions have again used a noticeable portion of the allowance. The change feels disproportionate compared with my own earlier, heavier sessions.
For context, there was also a plan/allowance correction during this period, so this isn't a controlled same-plan pricing comparison. I know task/context size, concurrent sessions, caching, rounding, in-flight requests and reporting delays can matter. I haven't established an accounting fault or security breach. Support is investigating; I'm trying to find out whether this pattern is happening to others too.
Has anyone noticed a similar change in the past two weeksāparticularly 0% remaining while work continues, or limit errors while the meter still shows allowance? If so, what plan, model/reasoning setting and surface were you using, and was Fast mode on or off?
Please keep replies/screenshots free of emails, account IDs, API keys, private chat/project names or support-case details. The screenshot below contains only usage history and model names.
I just noticed that the thumbs up and down buttons have completely disappeared from my ChatGPT Android app.
All I have now are Copy, Read Aloud, Share and the three-dot menu. There's no feedback or report option in that menu either.
I was trying to report a pretty serious hallucination where ChatGPT completely fabricated a previous conversation, including specific details, and confidently claimed it had found and checked that conversation. None of it had actually happened.
And now I can't even report the damn response directly.
I have "Improve the model for everyone" turned off, and I've seen reports suggesting that might be related. No idea if that's actually the cause.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it happening on Android only, or is the feedback option missing on other platforms too?
I had this Dumb Ai (its on HIGH not on Fast) im trying to get it Into Deep Research into Science Subjects however it keeps coming back with 0 citations and 0 SEARCHES and it finished within 5-9 minutes⦠Why it REALLY PISSES ME OFF when jt didnāt do the fucking Task i gave it⦠had this happen to me multiple times over the past days, and i tried multiple DIFFERENT CHATS, Separating the Deep Research into Multiple SMALLER Prompts and it still FAILS⦠im really Fucking Tired of this DUMB Aiā¦
