Answers from Men Only Was my friend Naive to Marry Village Girl Expecting Adjustment 35 L gone in a month?

Disclaimer n: I have used GPT to edit and format the story for grammar and spell checks and also for the title. For my previous share i wrote it raw without any help there were lots of missing punctuation and spelling errors.

Arrange Marriage Setup

I want to share the story of a close friend of mine, and I’m genuinely curious to know what people here think about it.

A few years ago, my friend and I were working together at Accenture in Mumbai. He was doing well for himself — earning around 10 LPA. Like many of us, his goal was simple: build a stable life, get married, and take care of his family.

Through relatives, he received a marriage proposal from a girl in Solapur. She was a B.Com graduate but didn’t want to work. Her father was a farmer, earning around 2–3 LPA depending on the crops. My friend thought this was manageable. He felt that with his income, he could support her family if needed. He met her a few times before the wedding, and she came across as calm, accommodating, and willing to adjust.

So they got married.

The First Month

What followed shocked him.

For the first month after marriage, she didn’t allow penetrative sex, saying she needed time. He respected her boundaries and waited. After that month, she said she had some work at her native place and went to her father’s house.

She made her condition clear — she would only return if he quit his job and moved to the village to help her father on the farm.

My friend tried to reason with her. He explained that his corporate job paid far more and that financially supporting.

Her response was blunt. Her sister and brother-in-law were already living with her parents, so according to her, he should do the same.

Soon after, she filed a 498A case domestic violence against him.

Police, Threats, and Mental Trauma

Despite having no political influence or connections, he says the police actually handled the situation well. They understood what was going on and were surprisingly cooperative. In fact, they even scolded the girl and her family after hearing both sides.

That wasn’t the end of it. Her father later sent a few goons from the village to threaten my friend and create a scene outside his house. The entire experience left him mentally drained and scared.

The Cost of Freedom

Eventually, he managed to get a divorce. But freedom came at a heavy price.

He spent around 10 lakh on the wedding , paid 25 lakh as settlement, and another 1 lakh on legal fees. Roughly 35 lakh gone for a marriage that barely lasted a month and brought him nothing but stress and trauma for a year

Two Years Later:

Two years later, his life looks very different.

He moved from Mumbai to Pune and, through a mutual friend, met another woman. Their arrangement is unconventional by societal standards. He pays her rent around 20k per month and she spends about five days a month with him, like a girlfriend.

There’s no pressure, no false promises, no drama.

His Realization:

According to him, he’s genuinely happy now. He says she treats him well, doesn’t make excuses, and respects him. Ironically, he says he treated his wife the same way during that one month of marriage, but only received rejection and heartbreak in return.

His biggest takeaway is this: he followed society’s rules to the letter. He studied hard, got a good job, married responsibly, and tried to provide a good life. Still, he found no peace. Now that he’s living life on his own terms, outside those rules, he finally feels content.

What do you make of this?, Would love to hear different perspectives.

Edit - Last arrangement is my friend meets the girl once a week and they behave as a married couple totally along with shopping, physical intimacy and everything. Someone asked if he is paying rent why did I call that woman independent because for rent she is offering her services it's not that guy is paying free rent which he was doing during marriage and didn't get anything in return. I have Nothin but huge respect for the second woman he is with as she is actually making him and may be other folks who had similar issues happy. Without her my friend would have slipped into depression or alcoholism or even menace to society who knows.

Answers from Men Only Getting tired of being a "free meal ticket" and entertainment source for indian women (not all). Do you feel the same?

I had an experience that highlights how broken the dating scene has become in Delhi NCR, or India.

I matched with a girl recently. I suggested keeping it simple and casual for a first meet, coffee at Blue Tokai. She immediately pushes back and suggests Olive Bar and Kitchen in Mehrauli instead. Red flag? Maybe, but I decided to give it a shot.

The actual date felt entirely one-sided. It felt like a job interview where I was expected to be the stand-up comedian and entertainer while she just sat there hogging expensive food, offering zero humor and matching none of the energy. The entitlement of expecting the guy to be 100% of the fun while contributing nothing to the conversation is exhausting.

When I got home, I asked what she felt. Predictably, I got the classic "I'd love to be friends." response. Look, I don't need "friendship" from dating apps since I already have a solid group of actual friends.

In the post date haze, I forgot to ask for her share of the bill immediately since we agreed to split the bill. Two days later I realized it and decided, money is more important than her friendship so I texted her for her split. She sent the money but with a massive, passive aggressive attitude. Honestly, IDGAF about the attitude. I took that recovered money (since i thought I've been scammed), bought myself a chai and a sutta, and felt relieved.

It feels like a massive chunk of women(not all) on these apps are just looking for free high end meals, validation and a free comedy show with zero intention of putting in effort.

How are you guys dealing with this "KANJAR" attitude without losing your mind?

Answers from Men Only Why do you think female MPs blocked the PM’s seat and not male MPs?

Post image
599 Upvotes

I am sharing my POV please share yours as well.

According to me, this was a “women card” move. They knew that security personnel would not touch female MPs, and the PM himself would also not be able to cross them forcefully.

Plus, if BJP members (MPs) tried to push them aside, it would immediately become a headline with slogans like “How dare you touch women.” I might be wrong, but even the Lok Sabha Speaker reportedly asked the PM to skip the Lok Sabha that day after receiving information that he might get physically hurt by others.

People often say there is no need for a Men’s Commission, but today, female MPs themselves played the women card against the Prime Minister inside Parliament.

Now just think if this can happen at such a high level, how often is this “women card” being used against an ordinary man?

UPDATE:-

Someone called it a Propaganda (Means I am trying to defame His/Her Beloved PM) Or trying to do Men vs Women, But Today I came across this Video from Trusted News channel where BJP MP'S as well as News Anchor Pointed same thing which I mentioned. You can watch this BJP MP's at 5:21 to 7:30 Than News Anchor at 7:50 To 8:15

Answers from Men Only Why don't women stand up against their own families instead of killing other's sons?

The craziest thing which none of these feminists will ever talk about is how there are so many women who would happily kill someone else's son instead of standing up to her own family.

Now they also have economic freedom and courts and police also usually side with them.

Still, they end up killing. Why? Because it is the easy way out for them.

The harsh reality most folks don't want to agree with is that empowerment of women doesn't make them better, they just end up empowering their worst traits and use it to fulfill their ends.

Like killing people with the help of their bfs, beating up blue collar workers like taxi drivers, guards etc., pushing false cases and engaging in adultery. That's all they do with their "empowerment".

Answers from Men Only Is it okay for a wife to want an open relationship after marriage?

We've been married for almost a year and knew for for 7 years before this and she never had this opinion. But now suddenly she says it's okay. I'm kinda speechless and surprised how can someone change so much after marriage.

Why are people like this?

Answers from Men Only Crazy how the medical subreddit is losing its mind over men having preferences?

I am not sure if anyone here has noticed it or not but the medical subreddit is having a full fledged meltdown after someone here posted why they don't want to marry a doctor cos of XYZ reasons.

Apparently men having preferences in whom they marry is shallow and all men should just go around marrying doctors and prioritize their lifestyle 🤡

I know so many women who will never marry the folks from following professions.

  1. Lawyers
  2. NRI men
  3. Merchant Navy
  4. pilots
  5. actors
  6. police

But women not marrying the above men is their choice but if a man doesn't want to marry a doctor, its misogyny blah blah blah.

Considering how entitled asf the women in the medical subreddit are with their comments on a guy not wanting to marry a doctor, I guess the guy who didn't want to marry a doctor dodged a bullet after all.

What's your opinion on this? Can only women have preferences in terms of not marrying a guy of particular profession? Is it a sin for men to have preferences now?

Edit - Even this post reached the medical subreddit and they're once again losing their minds over it. I don't know what the guy in the original post stated as to why he doesn't want to marry a doctor but apparently they were shallow reasons. At the end of the day preferences are preferences and whether they're morally shallow or upright is subjective. Even women have several shallow preferences but do a better job of hiding it than men. If not, I urge all the women medicos out there to marry all the bald, short, fat and broke men and show us "misogynistic incels" what it is to be a "better" person.

Answers from Men Only Men who are dating/ married to Non-Indian women. Is your experience better than Desi women?

After moving to Canada, I met a few local women and have been dating a very beautiful Caucasian woman for the past 3 years. I have dated a lot of women back in Delhi, but my overall experience has been better compared to dating Desi women. They seem to be having more personality, affectionate and very independent.

Answers from Men Only People screwed up the rs370 biryani guy, but dine and dash is so common on dating apps?

I saw the above post and I have to hard agree with it.

So the Rs.370 biryani guy was trolled and made to lose his job.

However, what people don't acknowledge is that such crass jokes come out because of the significantly high prevalence of "dine and dash" on dating apps.

So many women are literally on dating apps only hoping that someone ends up treating them to an expensive restaurant, a coffee or a car ride.

I have seen this happen many times, women will literally match with someone and ask them to meet in a café or a restaurant and mostly men pick the tab because it is a "date" and chivalry is expected from men.

Once the date is over, the woman will just unmatch or call for another date and then unmatch. But its clear that the woman only wanted someone to buy her a coffee or take her on a car ride or take her to a fancy restaurant.

I am not talking about obvious honeypots planted by pubs and clubs on dating apps but normal women who are just seeking someone to fund their weekend.

Now I know that not all women do this but at least 80% of women on dating apps tend to do this in my opinion.

Its because of these women that the biryani joke was probably made cos I believe that guy possibly spent many more bucks on such biryani dates with other women which led to nowhere. Again, I don't think anything should lead to something but it becomes very obvious when you have been used for a café outing/pub outing or a restaurant outing and when it happens multiple times, men simply can't help but wonder what values do these women have?

P.S. - Some simps and feminists will attack me now, but please do note, I have mentioned the word crass in bold, exactly for idiots like you. I am not defending the joke but again, dine and dash on dating apps is a big reason for why such jokes emerge in the first place.

Answers from Men Only Brothers, are you open to living with your in-laws from time to time?

Lately, I have been thinking of equality in marriages. Mostly, we have the lady move in to her in-laws' place, spending most of the rest of their lives there.

Since it's about equality, would you guys be open to spending some time of the year at your in-laws? Say, 6 months at your place, 6 months at your in-laws place.

Would you be open to such a setup?

So much so that it has neutralized a major mistake i made in my career. So tell me your reasoning, or the ones that society scares you with, and i will give you my take because i have spent a lot of time thinking. And the main problem is marrying without thinking.

This is a question for unmarried single 30+ men with lets say 1cr+ liquid and good looks (avg) no double chin obese and not socially really awkward who can get married but are choosing not to

Or for some other reason….

Please share your reason and your experience with that decision

I personally don’t like the western idea of being around 35+ going in to bar or meetup having a intent in the mind to look out for some one for either marriage or hookup

Thats why the question??

Answers from Men Only Men who made it in life how did you guys managed to do it ?

Guys, I am just a teen. Every morning it feels fked up; idk why I always have tension roaming around my head can't even focus on studies zero concentration, zero discipline. I've gained a lot of weight just don't know if anything good will happen or not. Totally confused about my future; I want to do a lot of things, try different stuff, but stuck with these entrance exams, atp I don't even know if the amount of time I am giving to this exam is even worth it or not. It feels like I am doing all this for the sake of society and my parents' expectations, so my question is to all those men out there: how did you guys made in life? How was your life, and were you as confused as me and felt like done and dusted??

Answers from Men Only Why do mu!!im women are more into following there religion no matter how progressive they are?

So i have this muslim neighbor girl who is around my age (18F). We both study in the same collage as we sometimes takes the same metro. I have talked to her a little and she is clearly not interested in being friends with me and she is not even interested in being friends with any male. I have seen many boys approaching her but she just straight up ignores them.

I once asked her if she is dating someone and she denies and says that she will only try to date someone when she turns marigable age (23 to 25) and she will only date with the purpose of marrying. I askes her why then she says that it's sin to be friends with opposite gender and she would not commit it.

She says that if she couldn't find anyone nice she would let her parents find a match for her instead of trying on multiple guys.

But at the same this rule doesn't apply on her brother, i know her brother who is 23M and he dated multiple girls and is still dating someone, he even bring his girlfriend home. The thing that bother me is the girl isn't bothered by the fact that her brother is allowed to date whoever he wants but she isn't. She doesn't even question it just go with what her parents had told her.

But it's completely different for the women of other communities, they change with time.

Answers from Men Only If AM was removed, women would suffer just as much?

Every now and then I see some women sipping green matcha with the caption "If AM is removed, 90% of Indian men would struggle to find a wife"

Firstly, if 90% of Indian men struggled to find a wife then wouldn't at least 80% of Indian women also struggle to find a husband after adjusting for gender skew ratio? Foreigners are least interested in Indian women of all the possible ethnicities. Even the "passport bros" try their luck in SE Asian countries. Almost no one ever flies down to India hoping to find a partner.

Secondly, a lot of western countries don't have the concept of AM and the women there are just as miserable if not more than the women in India. There are so many stories of women being pumped and dumped by folks in western countries. Women making reels in their late 30s and 40s as to how they got passed around. blah blah blah.

Lastly, I have seen so many mid-tier looking women find absolutely wonderful husbands via AM. Women who if they had to compete in the dating market would have absolutely faltered. Not just them but also women with a promiscuous past get to wash away all their sins via the AM market. Very few people in the dating market would continue dating a promiscuous women let alone marry her.

Answers from Men Only Its crazy how much adultery has increased in metro cities? Have you seen such a guy like the one I met at the Salon?

I went to my usual salon for a haircut today and there was a new guy there who was cutting my hair.

He started some casual chit-chat with me like what my name was, where I am from etc.

I answered it all, then he asked me if I had a gf? I said not as of now but I had one 5 years back.

He was like "What are you doing in Bengaluru bro? This is literally the easiest place to get a gf and I have never been with as many women as I have been with here".

I was like "How are you getting so many women?"

He said most of them are "bhabhis" who he has managed to get. I was like how? Then he told me what all he does.

  1. Go to tea shops near IT companies and just smile at women. The ones who smile back, he goes and initiates conversations.

  2. He goes to parks during weekend and even there he just randomly approaches women, if they reciprocate, he exchanges insta etc. and manages to sleep with them.

  3. If a kid comes to the salon for a haircut with his mom, he won't take money from the kid, he will just try to flirt with the mother instead.

He told via all these tactics, he has slept with close to 30-40 bhabhis and some 30 other girls who are unmarried and his gf. Over 3 years he has slept with close to 60 women as per his rough estimates.

A haircut + trimming takes at least 20 mins, so I had a lot of time to talk to him.

I was literally shocked, I did not believe him and told him "Bhaiya jhoot mat bolo (Don't lie bro)" and then towards the end he started showing me the chats he had with some of these bhabhis and girls and I was shocked. He did not show me any intimate pics or videos but the chats were definitely vulgar.

He says he has even managed to get some of the women to fund his lifestyle, they keep Gpaying him 5k-10k randomly and every month he strategically brings up his birthday for a few women to get free gifts. He says all this nets him close to 4-5 lacs/annum which is a lot.

He sends some of this gifts and money back home to Delhi and they got a bit suspicious as to how he was sending so much? He lied to them that he does part time Rapido and gets that money.

He told me he was from Delhi and it was very tough there but in Bengaluru this guy has managed to run through the city like anything. I am still a bit in disbelief tbh.

Have you guys come across such a playboy in other metro cities? Is this really so common now?

Towards the end, he even told me that one of his friends in a massage parlor in Delhi "services" 5-8 aunties everyday and some of them even gave his massage parlor friend a gold chain. Is there really such a huge network of blue collar guys "servicing" married women?
